Films with universal appeal are breaking language barriers. If the content connects with the larger sections of the audience, then the movie will be accepted as an all-Indian movie. If a film is more localised, original, and deep-rooted, then it has a greater universal appeal. The upcoming film Dasara starring Natural Star Nani is a very rooted film and the teaser of the movie which is out now indicates the same. SS Rajamouli, Shahid Kapoor, Dhanush, Dulquer Salmaan, and Rakshit Shetty launched the raw, rustic, and intense teaser of the movie.
The festival Dasara which marks the victory of good over evil is celebrated with much joy and fervour across India and the celebrations include burning Ravana effigies. The film Dasara will depict the victory of good over evil. Going by the teaser, the content is original and will appeal to audience all across the nation.
From the makeovers of the actors and showing the world of people working in the coal mines to the customs they follow, the teaser of Dasara offers a whole new experience. The very first frame shows Dharani (Nani) standing in front of a massive Ravana effigy. The village, Veerlapally, situated in Godavarikhani neighbourhood of Telangana is not beautiful and the lives of the people are not colourful. The people in Singareni Coal Mines look dark and consuming alcohol is a tradition. Dharani’s world is very wild and his wrath is witnessed when some evil forces disturb the harmony in the village.
The film belongs as much to director Srikanth Odela as it does to Nani. Both of them have managed to deliver a magnum opus. Srikanth Odela’s work didn’t look like that of a debutant’s. The sequences are designed and executed in such a way that allows the visual and auditory presentation to show the masculinity of the protagonist and the antagonists. Every frame is gold and Nani is able to exemplify and express key elements of the character with clinical ease.
The teaser indeed is filled with wrath and the full rampage of Nani is what we witness. His characterization, dialogue delivery, mannerisms, and body language astonish us and also take us into the Dharani trance. The way he lights the beedi and the kind of celebration he does after he consumes liquor gives goosebumps to the masses. The last episode where Nani runs his finger across the knife and puts blood on his forehead shows his rebellious attitude. There are few other instances to show the intense nature of the character. Shine Tom Chacko and Sai Kumar appeared in negative shaded roles. Keerthy Suresh isn’t shown in the teaser.
We get transported to the land of Singareni Coal Mines and become a part of the location, thanks to the masterwork of the cinematographer Sathyan Sooryan ISC. The pulsating background score by Santosh Narayanan with the sounds of Rakita Rakita elevates the scenes to another level. Editor Navin Nooli deserves a special mention for his teaser cut. Production values of SLV Cinemas are top-class. Avinash Kolla is the production designer of the film, and Vijay Chaganti is the Executive Producer. The teaser makes a huge sound and sets sky-high expectations.
The film Dasara will have a simultaneous release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi languages on March 30th.
