After Notebook, actor Zaheer Iqbal is promoting his new movie Double XL, and while interacting with NewsHelpline, he opened-up about his equation with Salman Khan.
He said, “I will always owe everything I have become in this field to Salman Khan. I have a lot of potential, and I want every director and producer to see that with Double XL, and hopefully, if I am lucky, I will get to do films that I want to do and become a big star”
Zaheer Iqbal plays a dashing young man in the Sonakshi Sinha-Huma Qureshi-starrer Double XL. The Satramm Ramani-directed movie, which chronicles the life of two women who inspire each other to break stereotypes around body weight.
Talking about being a part of the film, Zaheer said, “The story excited me, it has a wonderful message which needs to reach as many people as possible, and change the outlook of people at a young age where they realize that how it affects people when you say things to them, one must be made aware that such things are affecting others, and their self-confidence”
The film is female-led and when asked about market trend changing from male-led to female-led movie, Zaheer added, “That time is long gone, there was a time when only man-led movies did well, but lately female-led movies are doing wonderfully well and I believe as long as it’s made-well, it doesn’t matter if it’s a guy or a girl, it will do good. Content needs to be strong”
Further adding, Zaheer also addressed the north and south cinema divide debate, “Debate of Bollywood and South cinema, a good film is a good film in any part of the world, same goes for female or male led film, if it’s well made, it will do good”
Bankrolled by Wakaoo Films Elemen3 Entertainment and Reclining Seats Cinema Production, the film will hit the theatres on 4th November 2022.
