New Delhi, Oct 9 (SocialNews.XYZ) The World Wide Fund for Nature - India (WWF) and Taj Safaris, one of India's finest luxury wildlife circuits, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to help WWF India's conservation activities and increase awareness among visitors to the Taj Safaris lodges in India.
Speaking on the occasion, Gaurav Pokhariyal, Executive Vice President - Human Resources, IHCL, said, "After the iconic Gaur Relocation program in 2011, Taj Safaris is now stepping into the role of a conservation enabler through its association with WWF - India. Our initiatives around the National Parks have helped Pardhi, Gond and Baiga communities to reduce their dependence on the forest resources by bringing tourism as a new source of income to them. This partnership with WWF-India helps us further the cause of supporting to communities to converse the environment."
The cooperation sets the path for Taj Safaris and WWF India to collaborate in raising awareness of the value and necessity of wildlife and natural resource conservation. Through the partnership, visitors to the Taj Safaris lodges will have the chance to contribute voluntarily to WWF-conservation India's activities. The guests will occasionally receive updates from WWF-India on the status of their conservation programmes.
Karan Bhalla, Chief Operating Officer, WWF India, said, "This partnership is a great initiative to create awareness among the wider audience. Public awareness is an important aspect of protecting the environment. In this process, along with Taj Safaris, guests can contribute to nature and wildlife conservation".
Mahua Kothi, Bandhavgarh National Park, Baghvan, Pench National Park, Pashan Garh, Panna National Park, and Banjaar Tola-Kanha National Park are among the locations in India where Taj Safaris will promote the cause.
