Japan-U.S. Director-General Level Consultation on AfricaOn July 27, a Japan-U.S. Director-General Level Consultation on Africa was held online between Ambassador YONETANI Koji, Director-General of African Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, and Ambassador Molly Phee, Assistant Secretary, Bureau of African Affairs, Department of State of the United States of America.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on Sub-Sahara Africa and the Japanese side explained TICAD 8 which will be held next month. The both sides confirmed that Japan and the United States will continue close cooperation on Sub-Sahara Africa.
