DGGI Gurugram arrests a man for fraudulently availing ITC and evading GST

New Delhi, July 13 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Gurugram Zonal Unit of the Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI), has arrested a person under the provisions of the GST Act on charges of availing Input Tax Credit on the strength of goods-less invoices.

A GST official said that intelligence was gathered by the officers of DGGI Gurugram Zonal Unit that AKS Electrical and Electronics Ltd. located at S-1 & S-15, Bulandshahar Road, Industrial Area, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, was engaged in availing and issuance of fake ITC without the underlying supply of goods.

The accused had made huge purchases in a particular year from Abhishek Industries against whom an investigation with regard to availing ineligible ITC from various non-existent entities has already been undertaken by this office.

"Based on the verifications, evidence and statements recorded, it appeared that AKS Electrical and Electronics Ltd, Ghaziabad was involved in availing inadmissible Input Tax Credit on the strength of goods-less invoices received from various sources including Abhishek Industries without actual supply of goods. The quantum of such inadmissible ITC prima facie availed by AKS Electrical and Electronics Ltd. turns out to be of more than Rs 52 crore," said the official.
