Lucknow, July 10 (SocialNews.XYZ) Eid prayers passed off peacefully across Uttar Pradesh on Sunday with clerics appealing for peace and restraint.
Maulana Shahbuddin Razvi, general secretary of Dargah Ala Hazrat in Bareilly, put out a video message, asking not to use slogans "imported from Pakistan".
Wishing his community on Eid, the Maulana said: "This country is ours and we should promote peace and harmony. We should work for India and not to be puppet in the hands of foreign forces. All recent slogans of 'Sar Tan Se Juda' are imported from Pakistan. We are Indians and we should be like Indians and in the spirit of one nation.
Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahali, a well known Sunni cleric, also asked Muslims to follow the advisory issued by the government and not allow themselves to become pawns in the hands of vested interests.
