Bhopal, July 10 (SocialNews.XYZ) A hand-written message threatening to blow up the Jaipur-Sikandrabad Express created panic at Madhya Pradesh's Itarsi railway station early on Sunday before a detailed search of the entire train made it clear that it was a hoax.
As Itarsi railway station staff sounded an alert, Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) as well as local police reached the spot and made an intense search of all the train compartments.
Superintendent of Police, Narmadapuram, Gurkaran Singh, also reached the railway station with the bomb detection and disposal squad and sniffer dogs and searched the area. The train (Jaipur-Sikandrabad express) was finally allowed to proceed towards Sikandrabad at around 4 p.m. after no bomb or any explosives were found, said a railway official.
Superintendent of Police, Railways, Hitesh Choudhary told the media that while the Sikandrabad-bound train had crossed Narmadapuram (Hoshangabad) station, when a passenger found a hand-written note in the bathroom at around 1 p.m.
"The note said that 'a bomb was placed in two bogies to kill my family, please help'. The note was handed to the TTE who informed the control room. The GRP, RPF and local police reached the spot and made an intense search of the bogies, he added.
The incident created panic among the passengers. Several confused passengers shared their experience on social media.
However, the threat later turned out to a hoax, and an investigation is underway. Choudhary added.
