Panaji, July 10 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Congress on Sunday dismissed ongoing speculations about its Goa MLAs heading for the ruling BJP as party state in charge Dinesh Gundu Rao held a meeting with its lawmakers.
Deputy Congress Legislature Party leader Sankalp Amonkar told IANS said that nine MLAs were present for the meeting held in a hotel in Margoa and two were absent.
Dinesh Gundu Rao had arrived in Goa on Saturday after rumours of the Congress MLAs defecting and had held meetings with MLAs.
"Goa is always full of speculations. I don't see anyone (keen to join BJP), these are rumours everyday, right from day one. After the results came... since then the rumours are there. So I think we should not unnecessarily speak about this speculative thing... all are together," he had said on Saturday.
Congress state President Amit Patkar on Sunday reiterated that the Congress MLAs are united and the talk of them switching sides is just a rumour.
