Quick Response Team in Gurugram to tackle traffic jams during monsoon

Gurugram, June 27 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Gurugram Police is preparing to deploy a Quick Response Team (QRT) in the city to tackle traffic problems caused by water-logging during the rainy season.

The QRT will work to deal with traffic jams during water-logging and will help the people trapped in the jam or the waterlogged place to come out.

The QRT will consist of about 16 traffic police personnel. The team will have all the equipment, and a crane will also be attached to this team. Through the control room or social media, wherever there is information about slowing down of traffic due to water-logging and jams during monsoon, the QRT team will immediately rush to the spot.

"QRT will be responsible for keeping the traffic management smooth in the city including evacuating the vehicles stuck in the jam. More than a dozen traffic police personnel will be involved in this team. As soon as the information about water-logging and jams is received, the QRT team will reach there and start its work," Ravinder Singh Tomar, DCP (traffic) said.

Apart from the QRT team, a large number of traffic policemen will be deployed at various places during the monsoon season. There are more than 30 sensitive places in the city, where water-logging happens.

"An additional number of traffic police will be present at these places. Special arrangements will be made by the traffic police from Delhi-Jaipur Highway to Golf Course Road, for Sohna Road and other key points. The updates of the water-logging will also be shared by the traffic police through the Twitter handle so that the commuters do not face any kind of difficulty during monsoon," Tomar said.
