Sundernagar (Himachal Pradesh), June 14 (SocialNews.XYZ) In the election year, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Tuesday urged party functionaries to work with commitment and dedication to ensure 'mission repeat' in the government so that the pace of development goes uninterrupted.
Thanking Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat for always being considerate towards the state, Thakur said the tenure of the state government remained dedicated towards the welfare and upliftment of the poor.
Addressing the 'Tridev Sammelan' in Sundernagar town in Mandi district, he said social welfare programmes were proving boon to lakhs of people of the state. Over Rs 1,300 crore was being spent annually on social security pension, compared to Rs 400 crore spent during the Congress tenure.
He said over 20,000 families with chronically ill patients were being provided Rs 3,000 per month under the Sahara Yojna.
Thakur said Prime Minister Narendra Modi also considers Himachal Pradesh his second home and was always considerate towards the developmental demands of the state.
He said the state has performed well in providing potable water to every household as over 8.37 lakh taps have been installed in the last four and a half years against only 7.63 lakh installed in the past 50 years.
Union Minister Shekhawat said the state has witnessed unparalleled development.
The BJP has travelled a long journey from being a party with two Member of Parliaments to a largest political party in the world. "The credit of this goes to every party workers of the country."
He said it was due to the excellent works done by the present government it was poised to come to power in its second consecutive term again, breaking the myth that no government in the state managed to repeat its helm.
