Jaideep Ahlawat was interacting with NewsHelpline on the sidelines of The Broken News special screening in Mumbai. The entire star cast of the series including Shriya Pilgaonkar, Taaruk Raina, Sonali Bendre, Indraneil Sengupta, Faisal Rashid, Kiran Kumar, Aakash Khurana, and Sanjeeta Bhattacharya are the were present at the screening and posed for the paparazzi in their glamorous avatars.
Talking about the show and his role, Jaideep said, “The times we’re living-in, the media and news such a crucial role in distribution of information, no one is untouched by it, so the story is very relevant. And it is not just story about media, it is story about people, who willingly or unwillingly, directly, or indirectly, or whether you’re from media or public, are effect by information and news”
Adding about his character, Jaideep said, “I am playing the Boss, who is very bossy, my character Dipankar Sanyal is a person who thinks his face is a channel by itself, he is voice which needs to be heard, he is true believer of the fact that he can changes lives of people with his words and bend it any which way he likes. He is someone else on-screen and someone else entirely different in off-screen life, which sort of makes him multi-layered character”
Zee 5’s new web series The Broken News is an official adaptation of the popular British series ‘Press’. It revolves around two rival news networks and reveals the lives, lies, love, and struggles of a dynamic group of journalists.
Produced by BBC Studios India and directed by Vinay Waikul, it will premiere on 10th July 2022.
