Sharing a picture of clap-board on his social media profile, Chris Hemsworth captioned his post, “A new journey in the Mad Max saga begins #FURIOSA #georgemiller @anyataylorjoy @jasinboland”
The clap-board in the photo is propped in the familiar Mad Max scorched desert with a backdrop of clouds. The director's name, George Miller, can also be seen on the slate.
Miller, who worked on all four of the previous Mad Max films, returned to co-write the fierce Imperator Furiosa's origin story with Nico Lathouris.
Furiosa is an upcoming post-apocalyptic action adventure film directed and co-written by George Miller and stars Anya Taylor-Joy as the titular character Furiosa, along with Tom Burke.
Screenwriter Nico Lathouris, film editor Margaret Sixel, costume designer Jenny Beavan, and composer Junkie XL also return from Fury Road. It will be the fifth film in the Mad Max franchise and is said to be focusing on the origins of Furiosa.
Chris will soon be seen in Thor: Love and Thunder, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is helmed by Taika Waititi, and also stars Christian Bale, Tessa Thompson, Jaimie Alexander, Waititi, Russell Crowe, and Natalie Portman.
