I Didn’t Unlearn Anything, I Just Followed My Director Says Akshay Kumar

Mumbai, 10th May 2022 (NewsHelpline) – Superstar Akshay Kumar who is known for his masala movies and for the first time in his career he is venturing into historical biopic space with Prithviraj, says he didn’t unlearn anything for the film, he just followed his director Padma Shri Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi. 

 

Akshay Kumar was interacting with News Helpline at the trailer launch of Prithviraj in Mumbai. 

 

When asked that Akshay Kumar is known for masala movies, so adapting for historic role must have been difficult, did he unlearn anything and he said, “There was no unlearning that I did, I just followed my director, whatever he told me to do, I did. Whatever you see on-screen is his vision and I just followed and learned from him. I didn’t bring anything on this film, except myself” 

 

“I just handed myself over to Doctor Sahab and learned from him. He would tell me what he wanted, I would rehearse and perform, and if I were to tell that I had worked hard for this role, I would be lying” added Akshay Kumar. 

 

AKshay Kumar also talked about completing the film well within the time frame, but due to pandemic the film got stalled. 

 

He said, “I give 40 days to a film and complete it. Within 42 days, I finished the shoot. See, you don’t need more than 40-50 days on a film to complete it, I finished Prithviraj in 42 days, but for the filmmaker it was longer to research it, write it, shoot it, and complete it, if it wasn’t for pandemic, this movie would have released a long time ago” 

 

The film also stars debutante Manushi Chhillar along with Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Ashutosh Rana, Sakshi Tanwar, Manav Vij and Lalit Tiwari in other important characters.

 

Bankrolled by Yash Raj Films, it is scheduled for release on 3 June 2022.
