Bhopal, March 28 (SocialNews.XYZ) Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra on Monday said that it will provide full support to the displaced Kashmiri Pandits in getting rehabilitated in Kashmir.
Mishra said that he would urge Kashmiri Pandits living in the state to contact the home department if they wish to return to their homeland. He assured them that the government would provide all possible help for this purpose.
"The Madhya Pradesh government will extend help to the displaced Kashmiri Pandits if they wish to go back to their native place," Mishra, who is also state government's spokesperson, made this statement while talking to the press on Monday.
He added, "I request Kashmiri Pandit brothers and sisters living in Madhya Pradesh that they should inform the home department if they wish to return to their homeland. We will ensure and make arrangements for their return."
The minister, however, did not share any data on the number of Kashmiri Pandits living in the state.
On the other hand, responding to Mishra's statement, Congress Rajya Sabha MP Vivek Tankha urged the BJP to support his private member's bill on the rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits. In a video message, Tankha revealed that the Kashmiri Pandit (Recourse, Restitution and Rehabilitation & Resettlement) Bill, 2022 would be tabled in Parliament on Friday, April 1.
Giving his perspective on the challenges faced by Kashmiri Pandits, Tankha remarked, "I watched the comment of Narottam Mishra on Kashmiri Pandits now. I welcome that comment because he has offered to make arrangements for the return of Kashmir Pandits. But I want to tell him that the problem is not about going back. Kashmiri Pandits are capable of going back themselves. The problem is their security there."
He asserted that the problem is that how can they get back their property which went into distress sale or its compensation. "The problem is what will they do after going back there. The problem is whether they will get representation in the Legislature. The issue is who will maintain their monuments and temples. I am bringing a Bill taking into consideration all these issues which will be introduced in Parliament on April 1 as a Private Member's Bill," Tankha said.
