Godfather is directed by Mohan Raja. The film is the official Telugu remake of the Malayalam superhit film, Lucifer.

Salman Khan had been roped in to play a cameo in Chiranjeevi's Godafather. The original movie, Lucifer marked Prithviraj Sukumaran's directorial debut. The film starred Mohanlal, Vivek Oberoi and Manju Warrier in lead roles.
Salman Khan is likely to reprise Prithviraj's role in Chiranjeevi's Godfather. The film is jointly produced by Konidela Production Company, Jayam Company and NVR Cinema LLP.
The film also stars Nayanthara, Satyadev Kancharana, Harish Uthaman, Jayaprakash and Vamsi Krishna in important roles. It is rumoured that Ram Charan, Anushka Shetty and Shruti Haasan might also play cameos in this film.
Salman Khan is also busy shooting for Kick 2, Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali and Tiger 3.
