Major is a biographical action film directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, it is based on the life Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, a soldier who was killed in the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
Actor Adivi Sesh (in his Hindi film debut) portrays Major Sandeep, the title character, in addition to writing the script. He took to his social media and dropped the teaser, the caption read, “The Teaser was just a glimpse of the…RAMPAGE in #MajorTheFilm. AIM. SET. LOCK. MAY 27th. 2022. This Summer. Worldwide. Theaters Only”
The film is produced by Sony Pictures India, G. Mahesh Babu Entertainment and A+S Movies. The film is shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi and later dubbed into Malayalam.
The film also features Sobhita Dhulipala, Saiee Manjrekar, Prakash Raj, Revathi Nair and Murali Sharma.
The original release date was 2 July 2021, but the film was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film is now scheduled to be released on 27 May 2022.
Apart from Major, actor Adivi Sesh is also busy with HIT: The Second Case, an action-thriller film written and directed by Sailesh Kolanu. It is a sequel to the 2020 film HIT: The First Case.
