James is written and directed by Chethan Kumar, produced by Kishore Pathikonda, and starring Puneeth Rajkumar and Priya Anand in the lead roles. This would be Puneeth's posthumous appearance following his death on 29 October 2021.
Sharing the poster on his social media, Prabhas penned, “I'm sure we're about to witness a masterpiece in form of #James. This film will always be special to the millions of us who admire the Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar Sir. We miss you!”
The official handle of Niharika Entertainment also dropped the first official teaser for the movie, it said,, “As a gesture of Respect and Remembrance of Puneeth Rajkumar sir, we are honored to be Releasing #James official Telugu Teaser. Here it is #JamesTeaser @PRKAudio”
James marked the second collaboration between Puneeth, Priya and Sarathkumar after Raajakumara. The film score and soundtrack are composed by Charan Raj. The film is scheduled for release in theatres on 17 March 2022 alongside dubbed versions in Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu.
Prabhas is currently busy with romantic drama Radhe Shyam, and the Prashanth Neel-directed action film Salaar. Further, he has signed Aadipurush, and Nag Ashwin's untitled sci fi film and Spirit with Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
