It is known that Netflix own the Hindi language OTT rights of Prabhas’s Radhe Shyam while ZEE5 owns the Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam versions. Now, here is an interesting update on the actual business prospects behind the deals.
Apparently, Netflix and ZEE5 cumulatively shelled over Rs 225 crores for the post theatrical digital streaming rights of Radhe Shyam. This is one of the biggest ever deals in the history of Indian cinema.
If that really is the case, then the makers of Radhe Shyam would already have recovered a major chunk of the budget from the digital rights alone. The theatrical returns can be counted as outright profits.
Radhe Shyam is up for theatrical release on the 11th of March.
