The World Bank is preparing a new Country Partnership Framework and wants to ensure that the document is in line with the objectives and aspiration of Mauritius.

The World Bank Country Director for Mauritius, Mrs Idah Z. Pswarayi-Riddihough, made this statement today, following a courtesy call on the Prime Minister, Mr Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, at the New Treasury Building in Port-Louis. The World Bank Country Director for Mauritius is on an official visit to Mauritius till 09 February 2022.

The Financial Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Development, Mr Dharam Dev Manraj, was also present.

 

She underlined that the meeting with the Prime Minister was cordial and fruitful adding that several areas of potential cooperation were discussed. Mauritius and the World Bank, she said, share a strong and longstanding relationship which paves the way forward for further collaboration.

Mrs Pswarayi-Riddihough observed that Mauritius is a dynamic country which is doing well in terms of economic development at a time when the global economy is suffering from the COVID-19 pandemic. The World Bank, she reassured, will continue to support Mauritius on various levels.
