The official statement read, “Due to the significance spike in COVID cases in the country and the current scenario on theatres being partially or fully shut down in many states, we have decided to postpone the release of our movie The Kashmir Files. Let’s fight the pandemic together, wear mask and stay safe!”
The Kashmir Files is written and directed by Vivek Agnihotri starring Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, and Anupam Kher. The film tells the story of genocide of Kashmiri Hindus.
The film also stars Bhasha Sumbali, Chinmay Mandlekar, Puneet Issar, Prakash Belawadi, Mrinal Kulkarni, Bhasha Sumbli, Atul Srivastava and Prithviraj Sarnaik.
The film was slated for worldwide theatrical release on 26 January 2022, coinciding with India's Republic Day, but now, it’s been postponed.
