Ordinance no. 663, dated 20/12/2021, suspended, on a temporary basis, the authorization of foreigners traveling to Brazil from or with transit, in the last fourteen days before embarking, through Botswana, South Africa, Eswatini, Lesotho, Namibia and Zimbabwe.

It also temporarily suspended international flights to Brazil from or with transit (connections or stopovers) in the aforementioned six countries.

This prohibition does not apply to Brazilians and their spouses, partners, parents, guardians and their foreign children, foreigners residing in Brazil who have valid RNM, foreign diplomatic and consular agents accredited in Brazil. However, all are required to remain in quarantine for 14 days in the city of their final destination in Brazilian territory and submit the tests and form mentioned below.

 

According to the new ordinance, the entry into Brazil, by air, of travelers of international origin (except from the six aforementioned countries or who have been in them in the last 14 days before boarding), Brazilian or foreign, are authorized, provided they comply the following requirements, which Brazilians and resident foreigners are also obligated to:

I - presentation to the airline responsible for the flight, before boarding, of a document proving the performance of a test to screen for SARS-CoV-2 (covid-19) coronavirus infection, with a negative or undetectable result, of the antigen test type, performed within twenty-four hours prior to the time of boarding, or laboratory RT-PCR, performed within seventy-two hours prior to the time of boarding, observing the parameters indicated in Annex I of the aformentioned Ordinance and the following criteria:

a) in the event of a flight with connections or stopovers in which the traveler remains in a restricted area of ​​the airport, the deadlines referred to in item I of the main section will be considered in relation to boarding the first leg of the trip; and

b) in the event of a flight with connections or stopovers in which the traveler does not remain in a restricted area of ​​the airport, in which the traveler performs migration, and which exceeds seventy-two hours since the completion of the RT-PCR test or twenty-four hours of the antigen test, the traveler must present a document proving the performance of a new test, RT-PCR or antigen, with a negative or undetectable result for the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus (covid-19) at check-in for boarding to Federative Republic of Brazil.

II - presentation to the airline responsible for the flight, before boarding, of proof, printed or electronically, of filling out the Traveler's Health Declaration - DSV, within a maximum of twenty-four hours prior to boarding to the Federative Republic of Brazil, agreeing with the sanitary measures that must be complied during the period in which he/she is in the country; and

III - presentation to the airline responsible for the flight, before boarding, of proof of vaccination, printed or electronically, with immunization agents approved by the National Health Surveillance Agency or by the World Health Organization or by the authorities of the country where the traveler was immunized, whose application of the last dose or single dose has occurred at least fourteen days before the date of shipment.

The presentation of proof of vaccination will be waived for Brazilians and foreigners residing in Brazilian territory. However, upon entering Brazilian territory, they must perform quarantine for fourteen days in the city of their final destination and at the address registered in the Traveler's Health Declaration - DSV.
