Actor Vijay steps into 30th year in the Tamil film industry; “Theri” his biggest milestone

Actor Vijay, one of the biggest superstars of South film industry, is like an emotion for his fans, his biggest strength. His craze among his fans is extraordinary and he is a pride for them. From “Theri” to the yet to be released “Beast”, Thalapathy Vijay is exponentially growing with each success.

Now, Vijay steps into 30th year in the Tamil film industry since making his debut in 1992 with “Naalaiya Theerpu”. As he completes 29 years, we see why “Theri”, his biggest milestone film, is special to a Vijay fan. 

Since the benchmark “Theri”, the actor has set more records at the box office and is breaking his own previous records. 

Why “Theri” is a must-watch for all Vijay fans

Termed as a comeback film for Vijay in 2016 after an extremely bad performing “Puli”, “Their” turned out to be an engaging entertainer and a super hit blockbuster. Vijay in dual roles as ‘Vijay Kumar IPS’ and ‘Joseph Kuruvilla’ are the highlights of the movie. Written and directed by Atlee and produced by Kalaipuli, it is a treat to watch. This action-romance commercial film contains a social message on violence against women.

The storyline, action, drama, love, and nice background score are fantastic. The execution of the story was heightened by Vijay's powerful performance and mass fights. It is a deadly Thalapathy, GV Prakash (musician), Atlee combination for many reasons.

While Vijay steals the show in a dual role, the screenplay and BGM in many scenes increased the intensity. It is a dream for any fan to see Thalapathy in those roles. “Theri” was Vijay's first 150 crore film.

School classroom scene

Vijay’s swag was written all over this scene. Punishing the goondas in the classroom with a cane, and asking them simple questions of 5th grade had the typical mass Vijay style. ‘Twinkle Twinkle’ song looked beautiful in his own voice.

Hospital scene

This is the best scene of the film. Vijay comes to the hospital to take the statement of the rape victim who was dying. Exhibiting his pure emotion in this scene, many burst into tears when Raji said ‘Anna’, and then Vijay’s reaction was totally touching. The moment the girl’s hand did not let Vijay go, many in the audience cried badly too.

It is one scene that you see 50 times but still, you will have tears even if you want to stop yourself from feeling the emotion.

Bridge scene

IPS Vijay Kumar hangs the rapist upside down from the bridge, And, finds that his constable Rajendar has the same kind of punishment for a rapist in his mind. This is the best interval scene I have ever watched.

 

Nainika’s character – Father-daughter relationship

After the tragic incident in which Vijay loses his mother and wife, he quits his job and starts life afresh in Kerala. He is now Joseph Kuruvila, a Malayali. This surprise element was carried since the actor has a huge fan base in Kerala. South actress Meena’s four-year-old daughter Nainika made her acting debut with this film. The father-daughter relationship is beautifully portrayed. 

Police station scene

Joseph Kuruvila goes to a police station to withdraw his complaint filed over accident of his daughter. Here, the inspector who worked under him previously thinks he is IPS Vijay Kumar. And, to check if he is correct, calls out his name and here Vijay stops and looks back. A thrilling moment but starts his encounter with the baddies again.

Rain fight scene

As Vijay brings up his daughter in a very safe environment in Kerala, his past life is known to his predators who come back to hunt him. Here, the actor thinks there should be an end to this enmity. The rain fight scene remains one of the best ever transformation scenes we have seen of a hero. Fight sequences were mastered to perfection.
