Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra won a historic athletics gold medal to become India's second ever individual Olympic gold medallist after shooter Abhinav Bindra.
Wrestler Bajrang Punia won a bronze as India equalled their best ever Olympic medal haul of 6 medals.
Akshay Kumar took to his social media and dropped a stunning picture of Neeraj and wrtoe, “It’s a GOLD First place medalHeartiest Congratulations @Neeraj_chopra1 on creating history. You’re responsible for a billion tears of joy! Well done #NeerajChopra! #Tokyo2020”
Neeraj Chopra bagged the first ever gold medal in country’s history of participation, by throwing it 87.85 meter away. Bajrang Punia, Indian wrestler also bagged Bronze medal in wrestling, adding up total 6 medals for the country so far at the world event.
Praising the wrestler, Akshay Kumar tweeted, “Another exemplary performance! Congratulations #BajrangPunia on winning the #bronze, you fought like a champion. #Tokyo2020”
Meanwhile on the work front, Akshay Kumar will soon be seen in BellBottom, a spy thriller helmed by Ranjit Tiwari. The film also stars Vaani Kapoor, Huma Qureshi and Lara Dutta in pivotal roles.
