New Delhi, July 5 (SocialNews.XYZ) The admission process for undergraduate and diploma courses in Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) for its inaugural academic year 2021-2022 will start from July 6, Neharika Vohra, vice-chancellor of DSEU, said on Monday.
Vohra said the university will offer 15 diploma courses, 18 undergraduate courses and two post-graduate courses.
During a press conference on Monday, Vohra said, "The university is formed with the express aim of changing the entire paradigm of skilling and the idea is how do we make skilling aspirational and how do we become a partner in upskilling, reskilling of our nation and help the industry in that entire process."
Describing the newly launched flagship courses such as e-commerce operations, data analytics, digital design and media, facilities and hygiene management, medical laboratory technology etc., Vohra said the university will support entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship directly.
"Our courses are industry embedded. There are partnerships and linkages in diploma and undergraduate degree programmes where we will prepare each student to face the world and in gaining employable skills for the industry," he added.
Students enrolling for the undergraduate programmes (except B.Tech) will be required to take an interest profiling test -- PEG (Personality, Entrepreneurial Mindset and General Ability Test) -- to help them choose the course they are most suited for.
"We want the student to go and make a career in the industry. For this, we would like the student to ascertain their interest and then take admission, so that later they do not feel stuck in a vocationa," Vohra said.
Adhering to the Covid-19 protocols, the admission process will be conducted online.
DSEU was established in August 2020 by the Delhi government to provide quality education in applied sciences and skill education.
On June 15, the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, had said that DSEU will admit 6,000 students out of which 4,500 will pursue diploma courses and 1,500 will study degree courses.
