Ongole/Villupuram, April 6 (SocialNews.XYZ) Nearly 300 policemen from Andhra Pradesh's Prakasam district police department who were deputed in Tamil Nadu for the Assembly election duties on Tuesday won the hearts of the Tamil people with their humane services.
Prakasam police took wheelchair-bound voters to exercise their franchise, including carrying several other specially abled people with their own hands and also some voters along with their chairs, replicating scenes witnessed during the local bodies polls in AP recently.
"Prakasam district police rendered poll duties impartially with a service mindset," said Chinni Krishnan, a voter from the 17th ward of Dindivaram in Tindivanam Assembly constituency
Srinivas Rao, a head constable from N. G. Padu police station in Prakasam district carried a feeble old woman at Tindivanam constituency in Villupuram district and helped her cast vote.
Vilupuram superintendent of police (SP) S. Radhakrishnan and other senior officers from Tamil Nadu police thanked AP police and Prakasam district SP Siddarth Kaushal.
As many as 60 head constables and assistant sub inspectors, 160 police constables, 20 ARSI and AR head constables, 80 AR constables, 50 home guards and AR DSP K. Raghavendra went to Tamil Nadu to discharge election duties.
They rendered services in seven constituencies of Villupuram district where polls went off peacefully.
