Amidst of Pandemic, voting for 234 assembly seats in Tamil Nadu, 30 assembly seats in Puducherry started today. South celebrities such as Kamal Hassan, Ajith, Vijay, Shruti Hassan, Keerthy Suresh, AR Murguadoss and a lot more stepped out to cast their vote.
Making a strong statement against Petrol and Diesel price hike, actor Vijay arrived riding a bicycle to a polling booth to cast his vote. The video of actor went viral; Vijay was seen riding his cycle on a narrow road in Chennai, virtually surrounded by people following him on two-wheelers, taking photos.
Ajith along with his wife stepped out for voting. Kamal Hassan along with his daughter Shruti and Akshara, stepped out for voting. Filmmaker AR Murugadoss also shared a picture of himself after voting.

The polling will continue till 6pm. The counting of votes will take place on May 2. The state is witnessing a fierce battle between arch-rivals All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). MK Stalin-led DMK, which is out of power since 2011 in the state, is in a head-to-head battle with ruling party AIADMK in nearly 130 constituencies.
In Puducherry, Of the 30 assembly seats, five are reserved for the Scheduled Caste candidates.
