AP govt to cut down theatre occupancy to 50%?

If the latest reports are to be believed, the government of Andhra Pradesh is planning to cut down seating occupancy at movie theatres to 50%.

This decision is taken in the wake of spike in Covid cases in the state and also all across the country.

The state government is yet to officially announce its decision in this regard but related discussions are underway already.

The government of Telangana had already announced that there is no proposal of cutting down seating occupancy at movie theaters and other entertainment forums.

Incidentally, the government of Karnataka has issued a G.O, saying theatre occupancy will be down to 50% in the state starting from 7th of this month. Heresay is that the government of Andhra Pradesh might be following the same path.

If the government decides to cut down occupancy, it could come as a big blow to Pawan Kalyan’s Vakeel Saab as the film was sold for exorbitant prices and recovering the investment with subdued occupancy at theaters would be a mammoth task.
