Giving ‘beauty shots’ is something new that I learnt while shooting for ‘Aaj Sajeya’ says Alaya F

Actress Alaya F, whose first music video titled ‘Aaj Sajeya’, has been getting positive response from the audience, has said that giving ‘beauty shots’ in front of the camera is something new she learnt while shooting for her recently released romantic music video. She added saying that she doesn’t have any specific expectations form the audience but she hoped that people will appreciate the song.

Alaya F was interacting with News Helpline at the launch of ‘Aaj Sajeya’ in Mumbai.

‘Aaj Sajeya’ has garnered more than five million views within one day of its release. The song is streaming on Saregama Music’s YouTube channel. When asked Alaya what was the challenge when she was shooting for her first music video titled ‘Aaj Sajeya’, she said, “I have never learnt to give beauty shots because when I was doing a movie, everyone would keep telling me that ‘don’t worry about how you are looking and just act’ whereas here, I had to worry about how I was looking and that was very interesting. You can go to an acting class to learn acting and you can go to dance class to learn dancing but you can’t go to any class to give beauty shots, so that was something very new that I did. I had a great time working with Punit (Malhotra) because he knows his job really well.”

‘Aaj Sajeya’ revolves around bride-to-be Alaya. She looks like a breath of fresh ai in a white lehenga choli. She added a punch of contemporary bride as she completed her look with sneakers. The song also features actor Taha Shah Badussha, who has worked in films such as ‘Luv Ka Da End’, ‘Gippi’ and ‘Baar Baar Dekho’.

Talking about the song, Alaya said, “It’s a very heartfelt song but the music video is very light, happy, young and modern. While doing the song, I felt like whenever I will get married it should be very similar to it because I feel that new age brides are very fun, cool and easy. The shoot was absolutely wonderful. It was directed by Punit Malhotra and I was wearing wardrobe designed by Manish Malhotra and Micky (Contractor) sir was doing my make-up, so it was a real dream team.”

She added, “I feel the singer Goldie Sohel is so talented. We shot the song over two days at a very beautiful hotel. It was so much fun. We actually got down early on the second day, so I think everything must have done quite smoothly.”     

When asked Alaya what are her expectations from the audience in terms of feedback to her newly release song, she said, “I don’t have any specific expectations from the audience. I just like being surprised, so I will leave at that but I hope everyone loves it.”

‘Aaj Sajeya’ has been directed by Punit Malhotra. Musician Goldie Sohel has penned the lyrics, as well as composed and sung the number.
