Janasena Party President Sri Pawan Kalyan has observed that the country needs martial arts learned from ancestral gurus and domestic martial arts like wrestling and karrasamu (a practice using a long stick) must be encouraged. He said people need physical strength along with psychological strength to fight against corruption and warned that rowdies and corrupt people will rule if the leaders are not strong both physically and psychologically. He felicitated a team of 16 wrestlers who came from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Maharashtra in Hyderabad on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion Sri Pawan Kalyan said “our country is popularly known for its ancient martial arts. But, these martial arts are on the verge of extinction over some decades because of poor reception. The war education is still alive in states like Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Haryana. During my childhood days in Chirala, my father used to take me to wrestling competitions. I used to watch these war studies closely with local pahilwans like Sri Apparao. Though I have a thrust to learn, my body not supported. I have a strong desire to build a body like Sri Kodi Rammurthy Naidu, but cannot. However, I have practised martial arts after some years. I got skill in kickboxing, Karate, Indonesia martial arts.
Give training to your children too!
Strong physic is necessary along with a strong mind. We will have the courage to deal with any type of problems if we have strong physic. All Indians especially Telugu people must encourage our ancient war studies learning from ancestral gurus. We will encourage ancient war studies if Janasena comes to power. I appeal to Janasena leaders and Jana Sainiks to encourage marital arts. You also send your children for learning war studies. Society must be strong and courageous. Rowdies and corrupt will rule if we are not courageous. We will gain strength to fight against corruption if build our physical strength along with psychological strength. We can maintain a system and discipline. I thank all the wrestlers who came from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Maharashtra for my film (Produced by A M Ratnam in the direction of Krish). Wrestlers shall come from every village in future with the inspiration from you. Our Telugu people must also strive to re-build a strong society in India,” he said.
Wrestlers facilitated
Sri Pawan Kalyan facilitated a team of 16 wrestlers who came from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Maharashtra. He interacted with each and everyone and honoured them with a shawl and a memento of a silver Hanuman idol. He explained the greatness of Telugu wrestler Sri Kodi Rammurthy. He briefed how he had grown up as a world-famous wrestler and reached the level of making adventures abroad though he was born in a remote village in Srikakulam district. Later, he presented a mace to the wrestlers’ team.
