Chef turned author and filmmaker Vikas Khanna just took to his social media and expressed his anger over critics, favouritism and nepotism in film fraternity.
Vikas Khanna has hit a snag with Indian critics over his debut film, which is currently streaming on Amazon Prime.
The filmmaker took to his social media and wrote, “When I used to hear @KanganaTeam speak ab this issue of critics & favoritism & nepotism it used to hurt my heart. But today I experience it first hand. Minions won’t let outsiders enter even if they put their heart & soul in craft. It’s painful to hear “Pay or we’ll destroy you”
Looks like Vikas Khanna is experiencing the bitter pill of critics in India, who according to his tweet, will write a bad review if not paid properly.
Vikas shared one more tweet, where he also shared pictures of his movie getting good reviews. He tweeted, “My 2 Greatest Icons have spoken @VikasSwarup @bhawanasomaaya…While many critics are asking for money or they will give me 2 Stars or destroy my movie or not give me AWARDS. I ONLY care for my viewers & not reviewers…My Award is YOUR love. Pls watch #TheLastColor on Amazon Prime”
Vikas Khanna turned produced and directed for his debut movie, the film addresses an age old taboo surrounding widows in Vrindavan and Varanasi in India. It deals with how a 9-year old tightrope walker befriends one such widow and promises to add color to her life.
The film is adapted from Khanna's own book 'The Last Color' published by Bloomsbury Publishing.
