Actor-filmmaker Satish Kaushik, whose next film titled ‘Kaagaz’ is all set to release, has said that superstar Salman Khan liked story of his upcoming biographical film and therefore, he agreed to be one of the presenters of the film.
Satish Kaushik was interacting with News Helpline at the special screening of ‘Kaagaz’ on Monday in Mumbai.
‘Kaagaz’ is based on the life and struggle of Lal Bihari, a farmer from a small village in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, India, who was declared dead on government records.
Talking about how Salman Khan came on board as a presenter of the film, Kaishik said, “I feel Salman Khan Films (production house) has contributed a lot to the release of this film. I narrated this film’s story to Salman (Khan) when we were shooting for ‘Bharat’ in Malta (Europe). He really liked it and he agreed to come on board as a presenter of the film. Today, people are giving good feedback about the trailer and songs of the film, critics have given good reviews to the film. The film will release on Zee5 on 7th January and few theatres in Uttar Pradesh because the film is set in that state.”
He added, “We all know that Kaagaz (document) holds so much importance in our lives right from our birth till our death, so it’s a story of man who fought against the system to prove his existence. I urge the audience to watch this film because we have shown rural India in a beautiful way in it. It’s an emotional film but it has elements of black comedy in it.”
It is directed by Satish Kaushik and produced by Salman Khan and Nishant Kaushik under the banner of Salman Khan Films and The Satish Kaushik Entertainment Production.
The film stars Pankaj Tripathi, Monal Gajjar, Amar Upadhyay and Sandeepa Dhar in key roles.
