Imran won’t resign at PDM’s behest, says FM Qureshi

Islamabad, Dec 29 (SocialNews.XYZ) Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Tuesday reiterated that Prime Minister Imran Khan will not resign at the behest of the 11-party opposition alliance, the PDM.

Qureshi's remarks came in response to Pakistan Peoples Party chief Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari's threat to lead a long march to Islamabad if Khan did not resign by January 31, The Express Tribune reported.

"With Pakistan Democratic Movement protests, long marches and rallies, the government will not go anywhere. I am telling PDM today that Prime Minister Imran Khan will not resign on January 31.

"Why are they waiting for January 31?" he queried.

Last week, Zardari had reiterated his stance for launching the long march against the government, insisting that the there was no time left for dialogue.

He had said that the PDM will take final call to launch the long march, adding that the poor, employed, students and growers will be taking part in what he called a mammoth anti-government march.

The PDM has become a major resistance for Prime Minister Khan's government, who maintains that the prime agenda of the opposition movement is to seek leverage and relief for political leaders from corruption cases.

Khan, in a recent statement said that no matter how strong the opposition parties may become, he will never be giving them any leverage against what he called stolen money of the people and the country.
