Matthew McConaughey Welcomes Halsey, Pharrell Williams, and Bono On-Board Sing 2

Actor Matthew McConaughey unveils the first look poster of Sing 2 and unveils the new name added to the ensemble.

Sing 2 is an upcoming animated musical comedy film produced by Illumination. A sequel to the 2016 film Sing, the film will be written and directed by Garth Jennings and will star Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Seth MacFarlane, Scarlett Johansson, Nick Kroll, Taron Egerton and Tori Kelly, who will be reprising their roles from the first film. Along with Halsey, Pharrell Williams, and Bono have joined the cast as well.

Matthew dropped a poster on his social media profile and welcomed the new cast members. He captioned it, “Buster is back and ready to #SING2! Welcoming new names to the cast, more to look forward to next holiday 2021. @iamhalsey @Pharrell @U2 @illuminationent @singmovie @rollingstone”

Bono will play a rock star lion named Clay Calloway who has lost his roar. Pharrell is playing an ice cream truck-driving elephant named Alfonso, and Halsey will play Porsche, the entitled teenaged wolf daughter of Cannavale’s wolf mogul character, Jimmy Crystal.

This new swath of actors will join returning cast members Matthew McConaughey as theater owning koala Buster Moon, Reese Witherspoon as the pig singer Rosita, Scarlett Johansson as a punk rock porcupine named Ash, Taron Egerton as Johnny the gorilla, Tori Kelly as talented elephant Meena, and Nick Kroll as a pig named Gunter.
