Delhi police reunites 13-year-old boy with family in Jharkhand

New Delhi, Dec 17 (SocialNews.XYZ) A 13-year-old boy boarded a train from Jharkhand and reached Delhi. However with no contacts here the boy landed up in a children's home in Delhi's Lajpat Nagar.

The Delhi police in its campaign to trace missing children reached the children's home and found the boy who was admitted there almost a week back. The child initially could not tell anything about his hometown except that he was from Jharkhand. Later, he was counselled and the police team managed to get more details from the child. It was revealed that he was from Kulta village in Khunti, Jharkhand.

"As no other clue was available regarding his address so help from Google search was taken and Kulta was searched in Jharkhand and one such village was found located in District Khunti, Jharkhand. Immediately a call was made to the Pradhan of Kulta village and the entire matter was brought to his knowledge. A massive hunt was launched through the Pradhan and finally on December 14 the family of the missing child was traced in Kulta village,," said RP Meena, DCP South East Delhi.

Through video conferencing, the parents of the child identified the boy. Inquiries revealed that the child boarded a train and landed up in Delhi.

This year till October, a total of 2,629 children were traced by Delhi police out of 3,507 reported missing.
