Actor Sahil Salathia, who will next be seen in a web series titled ‘Paurashpur’, has said that makers of the show have shot upcoming historic drama in very aesthetic manner. He added saying that cast and crew of show have tried not to hurt any person’s or community’s sentiment while making it.
Sahil Salathia was interacting with the media to promote ‘Paurashpur’ on Tuesday in Mumbai.
From the trailer, it can be seen that there are a lot of intimate scenes in ‘Paurashpur’, when asked Sahil whether makers of the show are concerned that if certain community or a political party gets upset with their show because of its bold content, he said, “If somebody has to get offended, they will get offended on you eating an apple or having coffee. It's 2020 and the only responsibility as filmmakers or as actors that we have is that when we are representing some community or something else, it has to be done with a lot of respect and responsibility. Nobody should feel offended from their hearts and the idea is not to hurt anybody’s sentiments genuinely. But I think if you (audience) have seen the teaser and trailer or if you will watch the show, you will realize that it has been shot very aesthetically.”
‘Paurashpur’ traces the story of a medieval city that is filled with crime, corruption, abuse of power, misogyny, rape and love. It is set against the backdrop of 18th century India.
Talking about the show, Sahil said, “I was very excited because it’s the first time we are making a period drama which is set in a different era on an Indian OTT platform. These days we are watching a lot of stories which are set in a small town but this show has its own vibe. It’s a larger-than-life show and it has been shot very aesthetically. When the makers of the show approached me, on paper it looked great but now, from the paper to the execution, it’s looking even better, so obviously I was very happy to be a part of it.”
Sahil Salathia has earlier featured in television series like ‘Everest’ and ‘P.O.W.- Bandi Yuddh Ke’ and historical drama film ‘Panipat’ in his career.
In ‘Paurashpur’, Sahil plays the role of Nritya Guru (dance teacher) named Bhanu in the show, talking about his character, Sahil said, “I am playing the role of Nritya Guru in the show. This series has a lot of twists and turns but I can’t tell you what he (Character) is responsible for or not but he is very layered as a person, so when I say layered, it automatically becomes very interesting for an actor to play a part like that because in every episode you (audience) will see something interesting from his side.”
‘Paurashpur’ features Annu Kapoor, Milind Soman, Shilpa Shinde, Shaheer Sheikh, Flora Saini, Anant Joshi and Sahil Salathia, among others.
It is directed by Sachindra Vats and produced by Jaasvand Entertainment. The historical drama is set to premiere on ALTBalaji and Zee5 on December 29.
