TRS President and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Sunday expressed solidarity with farmers staging protests against the Centres new Farm laws, and extended complete support for the Bharat Bandh on Tuesday.

The Chief Minister asked the TRS cadre to directly participate in the bandh, and also appealed to the people of the State to stand by the farmers and make the bandh a success.
In a statement, Chandrashekhar Rao said the farmers were waging a just fight against the Farm laws enacted by the Central government. He reminded that the TRS opposed the three bills in Parliament as they were detrimental to farmers interests and emphasised the need to continue with the fight till the new laws are repealed. TRS party will work for the success of Bharat Bandh, he said, and appealed to the people to make the bandh a success and support the farmers.

As per the Chief Ministers directions, the TRS has decided to reach out to all sections of society in the State and seek their support to make the Bharat Bandh a success in the State. The party cadre were instructed to approach various merchants associations, farmers organisations, trade unions and transport companies, among others, to explain to them about the Centres draconian farm laws and seek their support for the success of bandh.

Speaking to mediapersons at Telangana Bhavan here, TRS working president and IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao said the Centre misused its strength in Parliament, especially in Rajya Sabha, to push through the farm bills despite stiff opposition from various political parties. The Chief Minister was moved by the plight of farmers protesting on the outskirts of New Delhi in cold weather conditions. He has given a call to the party cadre to extend their support to farmers and actively participating in the bandh. We salute the fighting spirit of the farmers, he added.

All the elected representatives of TRS party including Ministers as well as leaders of its affiliated organisations along with members of Rythu Bandhu Samithis and other farmers organisations, will stage rasta rokos on National Highways during the bandh. The TRS appealed to all business establishments, trade unions, transportation including TSRTC to observe bandh for at least two hours till 12 noon, and extend their support to the agitating farmers.
