Bengaluru, Dec 7 (SocialNews.XYZ) With 1,601 discharged from hospitals in a day, recoveries outnumbered 998 new Covid cases in Karnataka, taking its tally to 8,94,004, including 24,767 active cases, said the health bulletin on Monday.
"With 1,601 discharged in the last 24 hours, recovers across the southern state shot up to 8,57,351 till date, while 11 succumbed to the infection, taking the state's death toll to 11,867 so far," said the bulletin.
Bengaluru reported 501 fresh cases, taking the city's Covid tally to 3,74,525, including 19,269, while recoveries rose to 3,51,065 till date, with 861 in the last 24 hours.
The virus claimed seven lives in the city, taking its death tool to 4,190 so far.
Of the 279 patients in the intensive care units (ICUs) across the state, 133 are in Bengaluru hospitals, 23 in Tumakuru, 16 in Chamarajanagara, 15 in Hassan and 12 in Kalaburagi in the state's northern region.
Out of 76,471 tests conducted on Monday, 6,472 were through rapid antigen detection, while 69,999 were through RT-PCR method.
"Positivity rate for the day was 1.30 per cent and the case fatality rate 1.10 per cent," added the bulletin.
