On the 12th anniversary of the 26/11 Mumbai attack and marking the 12th death anniversary of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, actor Adivi Sesh who is playing the titular role of Major Sandeep shared a heartfelt video recalling the horrifying Mumbai attack.
Adivi Sesh informed what inspired him to make a film on Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, the kind of research underwent to write the script and the process that they had gone through to convince parents of the martyr.
Sesh saw a picture of NSG Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan on news channels and it struck him that he could have been someone from his family. The actor met Sandeep’s parents several times to convince them that their intentions were pure and their respect for their son genuine.
Finally, when they got the nod, they went ahead and the real test began for Sesh who had to train hard to make himself fit enough to play the role and he underwent look test to match the appearance of the Major. Needless to say, Sesh looks akin to the Major as we see in the look test picture.
“Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan lost his life on 27th of November. Thus, we are releasing this video on 27th with the intention to celebrate his life. The film speaks about the way he lived, not about the way he died. I hope, you like my humble attempt in trying to find the spirit of Major Sandeep within myself,” said Sesh.
The video also shows training sessions of Adivi Sesh and also on location visuals. They have announced the first look of the movie on December 17th.
Directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, the film is being bankrolled by Mahesh Babu and A+S Entertainments. It will release in Telugu and Hindi.
Sobhita Dhulipala and Saiee Manjrekar will be seen in important roles in the film set for a 2021 summer release.
