K.Shashidhar Reddy, 49, of Chaitanyapuri in Dilsukhnagar is a humble cable businessman by profession but a leader with a golden heart who strives to help the needy no matter the constraints. He was in the frontline feeding the GHMC Sanitation workers, Farmers in Raythu Bazar, and Police on roads with a hot breakfast every day during the initial days of COVID-19 lockdown. He got them going, providing smoking hot breakfast every morning. He did this from March 28 till the lockdowns are lifted. In the process, he overshot his own budget to keep the smiles on their faces.
Shashidhar Reddy is an MBA graduate who got into the cable TV business 29 years back. He is a loving husband and a wonderful parent to two kids. His family adores him.
Shashidhar is elected as General Secretary of the Student Union in Polytechnic College at an age of 18 in 1989. He later got elected as President of the Govt Institute of Post Diploma Studies, Ramanthapur in 1992. He served as President of the Joint Action Committee for MBA Students in 1998 to address student problems.
Mr. Reddy is a staunch patriot. He always celebrates Independence Day in a big way. He hoisted the national flag on a 50-foot pole to celebrate 50th Independence Day and felicitated freedom fighters Rajalingam Garu, President, AP Freedom Fighters Association, and others in Chaitanyapuri Division. He celebrated the 60th Independence Day by hoisting 60 flags with 60 Senior Citizens in The Dwarakapuram Coloney.
After watching his fellow citizens' struggles during all these years and especially during the COVID pandemic with no help from the state (TRS) and central (BJP) governments he has decided to take upon himself to get involved in active politics. He wants to be the champion of change in the upcoming GHMC elections.
Shashidhar is running as a corporator for Chaitanyapuri Division Ward No.22 as a Congress Party Candidate. He is asking everyone to give him a chance to question the government about the promises made by them that went unfulfilled. He is confident that voters of Chaitanyapuri are smart and will choose him to voice their anger against the government.
