Motorcycle thefts have become common in Gurugram in recent months. On an average ten vehicles are stolen every day in the city.

Cases have been registered under section 379 (theft) of the Indian Penal Code at different police stations in Gurugram.

"After the lifting of lockdown there is an increase in the number of thefts in the city, especially during the daytime when people are indoors," said a senior police official.

One of the cases was registered at Sector-53 police station. "The complainant Kapil Sharma was inside his house but when he stepped outside, he couldn't find his Royal Enfield motorcycle. The theft occurred on Monday at around 9.30 a.m.," said a police officer.
