Gurugram, Nov 19 (SocialNews.XYZ) In two separate cases, four persons, including a woman, were arrested in Gurugram district on Thursday for allegedly possessing nearly 9 kg of banned narcotic drugs.
All the arrested persons were booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and sent to judicial custody by the court, the police said.
In the first case, three men were arrested by a Crime Branch team from Khandsa road after receiving a tip-off. The three suspects, Tej Singh of Mathura, Krishan of Ballabgarh in Faridabad and Rajesh of Palwal district, were in the city allegedly selling banned narcotic drugs. More than 5 kg of marijuana was recovered from the accused, the police said.
During interrogation, the trio revealed that they peddled narcotic drugs from Mathura for potential customers in the city. "We are checking the criminal records of the accused and finding out if they were arrested earlier as well," said Subhash Boken, Gurugram Police spokesperson.
In the second case, a widow identified as Poonam, a resident of Pataudi in Gurugram, was arrested from Pataudi by the Manesar Police Crime Branch following a tip-off. The police said nearly 4 kg marijuana was recovered from the accused who had received the contraband substance from a Mewat-based peddler. Poonam used to sell drugs in the city after dividing them into small packets.
Two cases have been registered under the NDPS Act at Sector 10-A police station and the Pataudi police station, respectively, Boken said.
