New Delhi, Nov 18 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Delhi High Court on Wednesday asked Delhi University (DU) to file an affidavit mentioning the details of the courses for which Open Book Examination (OBE) results have been declared.
A single judge bench of the High Court presided by Justice Pratibha M. Singh also asked the varsity to inform when the results of the remaining courses will be declared.
"DU must file an affidavit within five days mentioning which are the courses whose results have been declared and which are the ones whose results are not declared," the bench said.
The orders were passed when the court heard the grievances of various students alleging that the results of their final year exams conducted in August have not been declared yet due to which they are facing immense difficulties in applying for higher studies.
The matter will next be heard by the court on November 26.
A division bench of the High Court on September 15 had asked the varsity to issue letters to the Principals of all its affiliated colleges apprising them about the need for accelerating the evaluation process and declaring the results of the online Open Book Examination (OBE) for the final year students preferably by the first week of October.
The court had also asked the varsity to issue a circular that September 18 was the last date for applying for comfort (assurance) letter by the postgraduate and undergraduate students seeking admission in foreign universities.
The results of the postgraduate students who are seeking to travel abroad for higher studies would be declared on or before September 28, the bench had said, adding, that the results of postgraduate students going abroad for higher studies be uploaded on DU's portal on the same day on the letterhead of the varsity along with the digital signature of the official concerned without a rider that the result is provisional.
However, as far as the undergraduate final year students seeking admission abroad were concerned, the varsity assured the court that the letter finalised by them for undergraduate students containing provisional results would be directly sent to the foreign university well within the cut-off date.
The bench added that after sending the letter to the foreign universities along with the provisional results of the undergraduate students, the varsity would intimate the student concerned enabling them to apply for visas.
