Bihars women voters helped JDU chief Nitish Kumar stave off several adverse factors, including LJP president Chirag Paswans attack on the chief minister.

The 43 seats that JDU won would not have been possible without the support of women voters, who turned out in larger numbers than men. Women turnout was recorded at 59.69%, while male turnout was 54.68%.

The increase in women voters since 2010 has worked to Kumar's advantage. Kumars decisions on prohibition, reservation in local bodies elections, and government jobs have ensured that women overlooked other incumbency factors.
