Actor Amit Sadh has decided to go ‘vocal for local’ to celebrate this year’s Diwali. On Monday, he urged his fans and followers on social media to support artisans, local & small businesses of the country during the Covid-19 crisis.
Sharing two pictures of himself on his Instagram handle, Sadh wrote, “I always practice what I tweet. I just bought this from a local in Goa. Earlier we came together to honour our weavers & now it's time to support our artisans by bringing in the joy of a simple earthen diya, rangoli & other embellishments from our local market. This Diwali, let's help our artisans, local & small businesses! #Local4Diwali @smritiiraniofficial”.
In the picture, Sadh can be seen holding and wearing a shirt from a local Goa market. Sadh requested his fans to follow his footsteps when Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday made a fervent appeal to people that along with ‘vocal for local’, they should promote ‘local for Diwali’ big time and buy local products this festival season. Celebrating Diwali with local will give a new boost to the economy, he said in his appeal.
On work front, this year, Sadh was seen mainly on digital platforms in number of projects such as ‘Operation Parindey’, ‘Yaara’, ‘Shakuntala Devi’, ‘Breathe: Into the Shadows’ and ‘Avrodh: The Siege Within’.
After the busy year of 2020, Amit Sadh is all set to star in Zee5’s upcoming web series ‘Zidd’ along with Amrita Puri and Sushant Singh. The original series will be directed by ad filmmaker Vishal Mangalorkar and produced by Boney Kapoor, Arunava Joy Sengupta and Akash Chawla.
‘Zidd’ is the story of a couple whose never-give-up attitude helps them overturn various impossible situations and impediments. The series includes action sequences and Army missions.
