When did you start cooking?
I started cooking when I was very young. My mother was a teacher and she used to take Tutions in the morning, then go to school to teach and then again tuitions in the evening to make the ends meet. To support her I started cooking. Sometimes I used to keep food ready before she and my father, who was also a school teacher, arrived from the school. Basically, I started with Kichadi and slowly learned to cook everything!
What you choose to eat -home-cooked or outside one and why?
I always loved home-cooked food! I have tried everything but I prefer home-cooked simple food. The reason is because of its freshness, simplicity, and most importantly the love with which it is made.
Do you follow a certain diet?
Yes, I eat everything but I always keep check on the quantity. My portions are always very small. I never ever overeat.
Please share your favorite dishes.
Bhindi ki Karaari sabzi and Garama Garam roti is my all-time favorite. Dal Tadka and Tandoori roti with Hari Mirch is another favorite.
Do you believe that looks and diet are connected? Specify a reason
Yes! It is very much connected because what goes inside you has an important impact on your outer self, your mood, and even your looks.
Please share about your diet for the whole day. Describe.
A heavy breakfast like muesli and milk or Paratha or Poha is a must.
For Lunch, I have Two rotis, dal, sabzi, and a little bit of rice.
I have something for evening snacks like fruit or a little chivda or juice. I skip dinner mostly but when I eat, I eat very little simple dal roti kind of food.
Did you learn some new recipes during the lockdown?
Yes! I learned to make a very interesting amla pickle. My son with me has experimented a lot with baking bread and pizza bases!
Do you believe that being fit has become a necessity in recent times? Comment with a reason.
It was always a necessity but never spoken about so much! In modern times life requires a lot of hustling and that’s why one needs to keep him/her fit! Also, it is necessary to fight the stress of modern times!
