Gurugram, Nov 4 (SocialNews.XYZ) Three workers were injured in an explosion inside a tank at a sewage treatment plant at Dhanwapur village here.
The police said on Wednesday that the injured men are receiving medical attention and their condition is reported to be stable.
According to the police, the victims are 20-year-old Imran, 29-year-old Tahir and 36-year-old Mushtaq. All of them are from Muzaffarpur in Bihar.
"The trio were injured due to the roof collapsing with the explosion. The tank, which had been closed for a long time, was started as a trial on Wednesday itself after repairs. The three injured labourers were immediately admitted to a private hospital on Old Railway Road by fellow workers. Their condition is said to be stable," said Subhash Boken, Gurugram police spokesperson.
According to officials, the sewage treatment plant of 68 MLD was inaugurated by then Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala in 2002. It was closed for a long time.
Another worker Sachin said that at 10 am, the workers were climbing inside the tank to check it. They were on the stairs when there was a sudden explosion and the roof of the tank collapsed and fell on the workers.
A team from the Sector-9A police station is investigating the matter, Boken said.
