When it comes to acting, it’s not just on-screen performances that piques Zahara Sethjiwala’s interest. The ‘Happu Ki Ultan Paltan’ actress is equally fascinated by the process behind it. She says, “I firmly believe you can’t value a diamond without knowing why it’s worth so much. So, for me, evaluating an actor’s performance is also about understanding his process; I am not completely satisfied until I find out the history of a particular scene or movie that impressed me -- how an actor played a particular role, how the director shot it and how the scriptwriter had written it.
For example, I was highly moved by the performance of every actor in ‘Padmaavat’, especially Ranveer Singh as Allaudin Khilji. I watched the movie thrice in theatres, just to study the characters. I also searched for Ranveer’s interviews in which he has explained how he played that role. I always watch good films in theatres, multiple times. I love the feeling of observing something new everytime I watch the same film. After watching almost every film,I feel lost for a while --- it’s as if I were a part of it. I have seen some really amazing movies and performances of late, and I am motivated to work even harder.”
