Amaravati, Oct 27 (SocialNews.XYZ) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy disbursed Rs 1,115 crore input subsidy, benefiting 50 lakh farmers as part of the second installment of the Rythu Bharosa scheme.

The funds, Rs 4,000 each, have been directly credited into the accounts of 50.47 lakh farmers as part of the second instalment.

The first instalment of Rs 6,173 crore was released at the beginning of the Kharif season on May 15, benefiting 49.69 lakh farmers, giving Rs 7,500 to each.

As part of the Rythu Bharosa scheme, Andhra Pradesh is extending an input subsidy of Rs 13,500 to the farmers, including tenant farmers and those cultivating forest and assigned lands.

Emphasising on the priority being given to the farmers and agriculture, Reddy said, "A total of 10,641 RBKs will be set up across the state to support farmers in every possible way. Right from sowing the seeds to the time of harvest, farmers should have access to all the basic amenities in place."

Besides the second instalment, the CM has also released input subsidies worth Rs 136 crore to 1.6 lakh farmers as compensation or crop loss due to the recent heavy rains.

Reddy reiterated that the state government is supporting the farmers through various other schemes such as Sunna Vaddi (zero interest), nine hours free power and crop insurance with a premium of Rs 1,030 crore.
