Director Nirmal Baby Varghese’s ‘Vazhiye’ has wrapped up the final schedule of the film at Konnakkad, Kasaragod. Many filmmakers of the upcoming Malayalam movies have stopped shooting due to the Coronavirus scare. Nirmal completed the movie during the lockdown, with less than 15 people on set at a time.
Sharing the pack-up picture Nirmal wrote, “Vazhiye happy pack up! Everyone worked so hard for it. Thank you all”. The main locations of the film were Konnakkad, Ariyiruthi, Badoor, Kanamvayal, Pulingome, Cherupuzha, and Kasaragod-Karnataka borders.
This horror thriller movie is being touted as Malayalam’s first found footage film. As per the official synopsis, the film narrates the story of two YouTube vloggers who decide to make a documentary film about a mystery land, where they confront perilous, nightmarish situations.
Hollywood music director Evan Evans is the music director of this independent horror-thriller. Evan is known for his film scores in several Hollywood films like Hoboken Hollow, Jack Rio, Never Surrender, War Flowers, Game of Assassins, etc. He is the son of legendary jazz musician Bill Evans. Evan trained under iconic film composer Lalo Schifrin (Mission Impossible).
Film produced by Baby Chaithanya under the banner of Casablanca Film Factory in association with Vivid Frames. Newcomers Jeffin Joseph, Aswathi Anil Kumar, Varun Ravindran, Addina, Joji Tomy, Shyam Salash, and Rajan playing lead roles. Midhun Eravil, Shobin Francis, and Kiran Kambrath are the cinematographers. Jeffin Joseph is the executive producer. Editing and sound designing by the director himself. Nirmal Baby Varghese has previously helmed the documentary film ‘Thariode’. He is also making a cinematic remake of his documentary. The remake is titled ‘Thariode: The Lost City’. Nirmal has previously revealed a list of major international actors, including Bill Hutchens, Luing Andrews, Alexx O’Nell, Courtney Sanello, Amelie Leroy, Brendan Byrne, and legendary actor Roger Ward, who will be starring in this period film.
