London, Oct 12 (SocialNews.XYZ) Apple is all set to launch its iPhone 12 series during a digital event on October 13 and now, a new report has claimed that iPhone 12 may have serious issues connecting to 5G in the UK.
According to analysts speaking to The Telegraph, 'iPhone 12' models may not support the 700MHz 5G band. Lower-spectrum bands such as 700MHz are crucial to 5G coverage since they are far-reaching and 700MHz is expected to be the most common form of 5G in the UK.
The report said that the new iPhone without support for "700MHz spectrum could give a huge advantage to UK network Three, which owns a considerable amount of 5G spectrum in bands that are expected to be usable by the iPhone".
This would be a similar situation to one that took place during the launch of the iPhone 5, with carrier EE the only one in the market with sufficient 4G coverage to be reliable.
Three has acquired large amounts of the 5G spectrum and would be better able to handle a lack of 700MHz support by using a range of other bands.
Apple is expected to release four models of the iPhone 12 -- the 5.4-inch iPhone 12 Mini, the 6.1-inch iPhone 12, the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro and the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max.
The upcoming iPhone 12 could cost somewhere between $699 to $749 while the iPhone 12 Max could be priced around $799-$849.
The Pro and Pro Max models are expected to be priced between $1,100 to $1,200.
The entry-level iPhone 12 may come with 64GB storage in a total of six colours including black, white, blue, red, yellow as well as coral.
